Jayant Kandoi - A story of willpower.
Jayant Kandoi is the only Indian who has defeated cancer six times in his life in 9 years. His cancer journey began in 2003, when he was in 10thstandard. He noticed a small lump on right side of his neck and unfortunately that lump turned out to be cancerous. He never let cancer came between his dreams and had top his exams in class 10th. He underwent 6 cycles of chemotherapy and became cancer free in 2014. Cancer did not leave him. It came back 5 more times in different body parts. But every time cancer had to loose against his willpower. Also,he always topped in his academic profession in school and university,he never let cancer become a hurdle in his career. Today he is a motivational speaker who motivates patients that cancer is not a death sentence. He gave motivational talk on josh talks and he also started his own non-government organisation named “city star club” where he works effortlessly for cancer patients.

Mauren –A story of courage.
In 2008, Mauren suffered from some allergies in her body and later she coughed blood. She went to doctors for check-up and after undergoing MRI and scans,she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Her oncologist gave her 12-14months span of time to live,and they showed no hope. She underwent few cycles of chemotherapy, she showed some progress but could not tolerate the treatment. She recieved standard chemotherapy,but received no positive merits. She came to know about immunotherapy and went for few cycles of that drug. Immunotherapy turned out to be a miraculous drug for her. She had multiple areas of metastatic disease involving her liver,kidneys,lungs and heart. Over a year, areas showed a substantial reduction with no-regrowth. Its been 10+ years she is living good quality of life,where doctors predicted 12-14 months of survival rate. She is living inspiration that there is life after cancer.

Linnea Olson – A story of hope.
Linnea Olson is world’s longest stage 4 lung cancer survivor of ALK mutation. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2005 and doctors gave her only short time to live. But she lived 16+ years. She was a living proof that there is a hope for late stage lung cancer survivors. She participated in five separate clinical trials as a phase 1(first in humans) patient that is the reason behind her escalated life expectancy. Those drugs are now some of the leading treatment for lung cancer. She has also volunteered in many lung cancer communities and helped numerous lung cancer survivors.She also gave motivational speech on tedX.
